Franz Carl Müller-Lyer

Franz Carl Müller- Lyer (* 1857, † 1916) was a German psychiatrist, sociologist and writer.

Müller- Lyer studied medicine and worked as a doctor in psychiatric hospitals in Strasbourg and other cities in Europe. In 1889 he discovered the eponymous geometric- optical Müller- Lyer illusion.
