Franz König (surgeon)

Francis King ( born February 16, 1832 in Rotenburg an der Fulda, † December 12, 1910 in Grunewald in Berlin) was a German surgeon and university lecturer.

Life

His father Christian King († 1871) was personal physician to the Hessen- Rotenburg, later Amtsphysikus in Weather in Marburg. His mother was his wife Amalie Knobel and comes from a Hessian officials and pastor's family.

Franz König studied medicine at the University of Marburg and the Friedrich Wilhelm University in Berlin. Since 26 November 1851 he was a member of the Corps Teutonia Marburg. In 1856 he became assistant physician in Marburg. In 1859 he settled as a general practitioner in Homberg (Efze ). He went to the state hospital in Hanau and married Charlotte Deines, who bore him four sons. In 1869 he was appointed the University of Rostock to the chair of surgery. In 1875 he became full professor at the Georg-August -Universität Göttingen. In 1895 he followed Adolf Heinrich von Bardeleben at the Berlin Charité. He became the go. Appointed medical officer.

He married in 1862 in Hanau your Charlotte ( 1843-1892 ), her parents were the manufacturer of your Konrad ( 1808-1880 ) from Hanau and his wife Margarete Boch. He had four sons, including the surgeon Fritz king.
