Franz Naegele

Franz Karl Joseph Naegele ( born July 12, 1778 in Dusseldorf, † January 21, 1851 in Heidelberg ) was a German gynecologist.

Life

Naegele was after his graduation in 1805 in Bamberg in 1807 and 1810 associate professor of obstetrics in Heidelberg.

On him the Naegele's rule for calculating the birth date returns, a form of Beckendeformität, obliquely narrowed basin, which makes it difficult to give birth naturally, bears his name, the front Asynklitismus is called in German also Naegele's obliquity.
