Franz Xaver Dieringer

Franz Xaver Dieringer ( born August 22, 1811 in Rangendingen (Hohenzollern ) † September 8, 1876 in Veringendorf (Hohenzollern) ) was a Catholic theologian.

Life

After studying theology at the University of Freiburg and the University of Tübingen Dieringer was ordained a priest in 1835 and then worked as Repetent at the Archbishop's Seminary in Freiburg im Breisgau. In 1841 he became a professor at the Lyceum in Speyer in 1843 full professor at the Faculty of the University of Bonn, where he university preacher and director and founder of the homiletic - catechetical seminar was later Catholic theology.
