Frederick William I, Duke of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Beck

Frederick William I of Schleswig -Holstein -Sonderburg- Beck ( * May 2, 1682, † June 26, 1719 at Francavilla di Sicilia) was since 1689 the third Duke of Oldenburgische sideline Schleswig -Holstein -Sonderburg- Beck.

His parents were August (1652-1689) and Hedwig Louise, Countess of Lippe - Alverdissen ( 1650-1731 ).

He changed his faith and became field marshal of the imperial army. He also sold the parent company Beck to Frederick William, the son of his uncle Friedrich Ludwig.

He fell in 1719 at the Battle of Villafranca, Sicily.

Family

He was married to Marie Antonia Josefa Isnardi di Castello di Sanfre ( 1682-1732/62 ). The couple had several children were grown from the only two daughters.

Maria Anna Leopoldine (* August 2, 1717; † February 7, 1789 ) married Emanuel de Souza y Calharis ( 1705-1759 ) and founded the family de Souza -Holstein. The second daughter Johanna Amalie ( born December 3, 1719 † October 30, 1774 ) married the court architect Emanuel Silva - Tarouca.
