Fredrik Nyberg

Fredrik Nyberg ( born March 23, 1969 in Frösön ) is a former Swedish ski racer and 14-time Swedish champion.

Nyberg took in December 1988 for the first time participated in a race of the world cup. 14 months after his debut, he celebrated his first victory in the giant slalom in Veysonnaz. He celebrated in his career seven World Cup victories.

At Olympic Games Nyberg took part five times, in 1992 in Albertville, 1994 Lillehammer, 1998 in Nagano, 2002 Salt Lake City and Torino 2006. His best results were a seventh place in downhill in 2002 and a fifth-place finish in the giant slalom in 2006.

The World Ski Championships 1999 in Vail / Beaver Creek Nyberg was fourth in the giant slalom.

On 9 November 2006, Nyberg went on a training run on the Reiteralm ( Austria ) serious injury in his right knee, so that the World Cup season and his 18 -year World Cup career was over for him.
