Friedrich Karl Arnold Schwassmann
Friedrich Karl Arnold Schwassmann ( born March 25, 1870 in Hamburg, † January 19, 1964 ) was a German astronomer.
Life
Schwassmann doctorate after studying in Leipzig and Berlin in 1891 in Göttingen. He went in 1897 to the new Heidelberg Observatory on the king chair and remained there until his retirement in 1934.
Discoveries
He discovered 22 asteroids with Max Wolf, and together with his colleague Arthur Arno guard the periodic comets 29P/Schwassmann-Wachmann, 31P/Schwassmann-Wachmann and 73P/Schwassmann-Wachmann.
