Friedrich, Prince of Waldeck and Pyrmont
Adolf Friedrich Hermann ( born January 20, 1865 in Arolsen, † May 26, 1946 ibid ) was from 1893 to 1918, the last ruler of the Principality of Waldeck- Pyrmont. He was the son of Prince Georg Viktor (1831-1893) and Helene of Nassau- Weilburg.
Life
Friedrich studied law in Göttingen and Leipzig, and in 1884 member of the Corps Bremensia. As general of cavalry he made with the First World War. As abdicated in 1918 because of the November Revolution of the German Emperor and the monarchs of the German Federal States, he was the only German prince, who signed a waiver. The Socialist Mayor Philipp Scheidemann of Kassel called on account of its resistance jokingly " Frederick the defiant ".
By comparison with the Parliament of the Free State of Waldeck was developed by Friedrich and his descendants in 1920, the usufruct of Arolsen castle as well as the ownership of the forest and the domain Arolsen Hünighausen; latter was then exchanged for the domain Eilhausen. He died on May 26, 1946.

Prince Frederick married in 1895 Princess Bathildis of Schaumburg -Lippe ( 1873-1962 ), daughter of Prince Wilhelm of Schaumburg -Lippe and Princess Bathildis of Anhalt-Dessau. From the union three sons and a daughter were born:
