Fritz Honegger

Fritz Honegger ( born July 25, 1917 in Hauptwil; † March 4, 1999 in Zurich ) was a Swiss politician ( FDP) from the canton of Zurich. As he was Federal Minister of Economics and once held the office of president.

He was elected on 7 December 1977 in the first ballot as the successor of Ernst Brugger in the Bundesrat. On December 31, 1982, he resigned. During his tenure, he stood in front of the Swiss Federal Department of Economic Affairs.

He was President in 1982 and Vice President in 1981. After his resignation, he held various mandates in the economy, in addition to a number of honorary positions. The economy mandates enabled him to dispense with the pension that would be payable to an old Federal Council.
