The fox Petrolub SE (self notation: FUCHS SE ) ​​is a German company in the oil and chemical sector, which has focused on the production and distribution of lubricants. Fuchs Petrolub is in this context, the world 's largest independent supplier of lubricants.

The company was founded in 1931 under the name Rudolf Fuchs in Mannheim. With over 50 percent of the ordinary shares, the Fuchs family holds the majority of votes. The remaining shares are in free float. The headquarters is located in Mannheim on the Friesenheimer island.

In addition to several thousand lubricants, the company offers products for all applications and industries. The customers range from mining and the steel industry to agriculture, from the automotive industry to the household sector and for trade for motor oils. The most important after sales regions for the Group are Western Europe, Asia and North America.

Since 23 June 2008, the preference shares of Fuchs Petrolub are listed in the MDAX.

In Austria, the subsidiary operates under Fuchs Austria GmbH and is a purely commercial enterprise. The company is based in Thalgau. With 27 employees, the company generated a turnover of 15.42 million euros.

In 2011, the company reached the third place among Austria's Leading Companies in the category Golden central.
