Gabriel Andrei Torje ( born November 22, 1989 in Timişoara, Timiş county ) is a Romanian football player.

Career

Torje began his career in 2005 at CFR Timişoara. In 2006 he moved to local rivals FC Timişoara. In his first season he came to inserts in the highest Romanian league. At the end of seventh place was reached. Moreover, the association moved into the Cup final, where he lost to Rapid Bucharest. During the winter break of 2007/ 08 Torje returned his hometown 's back and moved to Dinamo Bucharest. The transfer fee of 2 million euros making him a most expensive transfer between two Romanian teams.

With third place in the League to Dinamo was able to qualify for the Europa League. In the 2009/10 season, the midfielder then gave his debut at European club level. In the match against the Dutch side NEC Nijmegen Torje was substituted at half time for Zé Kalanga. The game was lost 0-1 in Nijmegen.

End of August 2011 he was engaged by Udinese Calcio for seven million euros. In the 2012/13 season he was sent to FC Granada, loaned in the season 2013/14 at Espanyol.

National

For Romania Torje first played for various youth teams and is currently considered the most promising football talent in the country. He is the captain of the Romanian U -21 national football team. In September 2010 he was the European Championship qualifier against Albania his debut in the senior team. On 9 February 2011, he scored in a tournament in Cyprus 1-1 draw with the hosts his first international goal.

On 20 November 2008, his 19th birthday, Torje was secretly filmed together with his teammates Lucian Goian, Adrian Ropotan and Cristian Pulhac of a girl on his celebration. On the tape, the three sing the club anthem of arch-rivals Steaua Bucharest. After the recording of the Romanian daily Libertatea has fallen into the public, Goian and Pulhac Dinamo were put on the transfer list, and Torje Ropotan had to publicly apologize. All players had to pay a fine of 5000 euros.
