Gägelow

Gägelow is a municipality in the district of North West in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ). The municipality is since 1 April 2005, administered by the Office Grevesmühlen country located in the town of Greve mills, which forms an administrative community with the Office. ( to 31 December 2004 was Gägelow seat of the now defunct Office Gägelow ).

Geography

The municipality is located in a slightly hilly Gägelow, the Wismar Bay towards sloping ground immediately on the western outskirts of the Hanseatic city of Wismar. The distance to the beaches of the Eggers Wiek is only a few kilometers.

To Gägelow include the districts Gressow, Jamel, New Wide Village, Proseken, star pitcher, Stofferstorf, Voßkuhl, Wide Village and Wolde.

History

The medieval village churches in the districts Gressow Proseken and are mentioned already in 1230 in Ratzeburg tithe register, which at that time the diocese of Ratzeburg belonging villages ordered by parishes lists.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms was approved on 4 November 1996 by the Home Office and registered under No. 116 of the coat of arms role of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Blazon: " Azure, a gold top, topped with half a red tip, is a twelve-petalled golden rosette; top right and left each a golden boulders. "

The coat of arms was designed by the Weimar Michael Zapfe.
