Gakuen Alice
Alice Academy (Japanese学園 アリス, Gakuen Arisu ) is a manga series of the Japanese illustrator Tachibana Higuchi, which can be assigned to the shōjo genre. The manga has also been implemented as an anime television series.
The plot revolves around a young girl who is trained in a special school. There, children with special supernatural abilities called Alice.

Action environment and history
In the Alice Academy students are taught that possess special skills. These abilities are as the owner, Alice called. The Alice give their owners supernatural abilities, such as telekinesis, creation of dolls with souls or hovering. A person can also have two or maximum three of these have Alice, but this is very rare. The Alice are divided into five groups, which are defined according to the skills acquired by them. These are psycho-group, the techno group, the Physio group, the special group and the risk group. The students of each group are housed separately from each other and taught. In school there are elementary, secondary and high school, where the students are additionally hierarchy with star ranks. These may consist of up to three stars, or even a special rank exist, and indicate how well the Alice mastered her powers and how strong they are pronounced.
The aim of the Alice Academy is the Alice, to train them to control their powers to use them later for society. The school is sealed off from the outside world and there is for the students just outside contacts. Therefore, the teachers live on the grounds of the Academy, which is located in a large forest in the middle of Tokyo. All this is intended to protect the Alice, because the government feared that their forces could fall into the wrong hands.
About the Alice Academy is known for its foreclosure only very little in the population and there are circulating various conspiracy theories. The Company Z wants to abolish Alice Academy, so that the children go to other regular schools. According to the organization, the children in the Academy only be exploited by the government and treated badly. Action
The ten-year Mikan Sakura grew up in a small village with her grandfather. As Hotaru Imai comes in their class, the two become friends soon. But Hotaru has an inventor Alice and therefore must soon on the Alice Academy. Mikan is sad over the loss of her best friend and decides, after some time, to follow with the savings of her grandfather Hotaru on the school
Just outside the school she meets the teacher Narumi, who believes that Mikan has an Alice. The manga Alice Academy by Tachibana Higuchi appeared in Japan from issue 19 /2002 ( beginning September 2002) to 14/2013 (20 June 2013) in individual chapters in the manga magazine Hana to Yume the publisher Hakusensha. These individual chapters were combined in 31 anthologies.
The series was published in English by Tokyopop, which published 16 volumes until the closure of the U.S. Department. It is published in Spanish in Glénat. Alice Academy appears on German since October 2005 in the magazine Daisuki at Carlsen Comics. The publisher previously published 18 anthologies. The translation is by Nina Olligschläger.
Adaptations
Anime
The animation studio Group TAC, and Aniplex produced for a 26-part manga anime television series in the Takahiro Omori directed by. The character design is by Yoshiaki Ito, took over as artistic director Yoshinori Hishinuma. The series was broadcast on 30 October 2004 until 14 May 2005 to the Japanese television station NHK.
The series was broadcast in English on Animax -asia and published by Rose Entertainment in Spanish. Furthermore, the anime from the transmitter ABS -CBN aired in Tagalog.
Synchronization
Music
The background music of the series was composed by Makoto Yoshimori, sound control led Yoshikazu Iwanami. The header title Pikapika no Taiyo (ピカピカ の 太陽) as well as the song for the credits, Shiawase no Niji (幸せ の 虹) were sung by Kana Ueda, the talks also the main character. The end credits also sings Rie Kugimiya.
Fanbook
There were two official Fanbooks to the manga series. The first (Band 7.5) was released in March 2005 and includes data up to Volume 7 of the series. The second (Volume 25.5 ) was published in September 2011 and is 25 at the level of band
In May 2007, an official artbook for the series was released. In October 2011, a picture book followed for practicing hiragana characters. In addition, there was also a Pika Pika SP Fanbook, which appeared in the magazine Hana to Yume.
Radioplay
For the series three radio play CDs were released, in which the same speaker as in the series speak. They were first sent to an Internet radio program and appeared in 2006 on CD.

Video game
On November 18, 2004 Gakuen Alice appeared - Doki Doki Fushigi Taiken (学園 アリス~ドキドキ ☆ 不思議 たいけん, dt " Schoolyard Alice - Palpitation: A wondrous experience " ) for the Game Boy Advance. On 22 June 2006 he Gakuen Alice - Kira Kira Memory Kiss (学園 アリス~きらきら ★ メモリー キッス, dt " Schoolyard Alice - Twinkle: A reminder Kiss" ) for the PlayStation 2 in Japan published.
