Galen Spencer

Galen Carter Spencer (GC Spencer, born September 19, 1840 in New York City; † October 19, 1904 in Greenwich, Connecticut ) was an American archer.

Methodist Reverend Spencer, one of the oldest Olympian, won the gold medal at the Olympic Games 1904 in St. Louis with the team, the Potomac Archers, in the U.S. domestic duel. The competition took place on his 64th birthday. Three weeks after his victory, he had to undergo an operation on its aftermath, he died a week later.
