Galina Polskikh

Galina Alexandrovna Polskich (Russian Галина Александровна Польских; born November 27, 1939 in Moscow ) is a Russian actress. She has been involved since 1962 in about 120 films as an actress.

Life

Polskich was born in a poor family. Her father died during the Second World War, and her mother died a few years later of typhoid fever. At eight years old she came to an orphanage, where she had spent a few months. Then she grew up with her grandmother. In 1960 she was accepted at the Moscow Film School and trained by Sergei Gerasimov and Tamara Makarova.

Galina Polskich had her film debut in 1962 in the internationally successful film The Girl Tanya in the lead role of Tanya. In the 1960s, she appeared in productions of directors Georgi Danelija ( stopover in Moscow, 1964), Grigori Tschuchrai ( There once lived an old man with his old man, 1965) and Sergei Gerasimov ( Journalist, 1967) on. She starred in two DEFA films: in Konrad Wolf's I was nineteen ( 1968) and in a Rotarmistin Kurt Maetzig Janus (1972). Since the late 1960s Polskich was also seen in TV films. Important She has starred in war movies without front flanks (1975 ) and the front behind the front line (1978). In 1979 she was awarded the title People's Artist of the RSFSR.
