Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo

Gankutsuō (Japanese巌 窟 王, dt " cave King " ) is a Japanese anime series by Studio Gonzo. In Japan, the series aired from October 2004 to March 2005. The anime is based on the plot of the book The Count of Monte Cristo, but the action was laid in the year 5053. Based on the anime, a manga was later.

Action

Albert de Morcerf, a young aristocrat from Paris, makes with his best friend Franz a trip to Luna. Once there, he meets the wealthy Count of Monte Cristo. Albert is fascinated by him and eager to get to know him. The Count and Albert are good friends, as opposed to Franz, who confronts the Count suspicious until the end. Albert invites the count one to Paris to visit him at his home and introduce him to his family. From here on, much of the action takes place in Paris from. Albert and his friends are caught up in the web of intrigue spun by the Count.
