Special car 1

The special car -1 ( SK-1 ) was a light combat vehicle, which was submitted to the People's Police of the GDR into service 1953/54. The vehicle based on the chassis of the truck phenomenon granite 30K. Due to the increased weight, the rear axle has been upgraded with dual tires and reinforced springs. The Special Car 1 was designed for use on paved roads and had a fording capability of 0.82 m. Other types of the vehicle was planned to be used as vehicles and telephone messages carriage.

From the mid- 1950s Soviet armored personnel carriers could be introduced in the GDR, which then use in the NVA found. The Special Car 1 were then handed over to the fighting groups of the working class for property protection. The battle groups continued vehicles on 13 August 1961 during the construction of the Berlin Wall. The Special Vehicle 1 was the only one in the DDR series-produced armored vehicle.
