Garcihernández

Garcihernández is a municipality in the province of Salamanca, western Spain. It has 507 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013) and is located about 30 kilometers southeast of the city of Salamanca.

The municipality covers an area of ​​approx. 47.59 km ² and is situated at an average altitude of 814 m above sea level.

The economic focus is almost exclusively on agriculture.

The town achieved historical fame through the Battle of Garcia Hernandez, in which the heavy cavalry of the King's German Legion, a department of the French infantry surprised, which was on the decline.
