Gary Yaremchuk

Gary Yaremchuk ( born August 15, 1961 in Edmonton, Alberta ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who played from 1981 to 1985 for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League. His younger brother Ken is also a former NHL player.

Career

Gary Yaremchuk began his career with the Portland Winter Hawks, for whom he played in the Western Hockey League from 1979 to 1981. He was then in the second round selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1981 as a total of 24 players from the Toronto Maple Leafs, where he was until 1985 a total of four years under contract. Mainly the attacker was, however, in Toronto's former farm team, the inserted Cincinnati Tigers of the Central Hockey League and the St. Catharines Saints of the American Hockey League.

On August 13, 1985, the Detroit Red Wings Yaremchuk committed as a free agent, however, came in the 1985/86 season only in their former farm team, the Adirondack Red Wings of the American Hockey League, are used. Following this, Yaremchuk moved to Europe for the first time when he played in the season 1986/87 with Jokerit in the SM- liiga. The next three seasons remained Yaremchuk in Finland and completed a season for Oulu Kärpät and two more years for KooKoo Kouvola.

From 1990 to 1994 Yaremchuk was ever a season when EC Ratingen in the 2nd Hockey League, the HC Amiens Somme in France's Ligue Magnus, the HC Gardena in the Italian Seria A and the Durham Wasps from the British National League under contract, before 1994 ended his career.
