Gaston Taument in Jersey Feyenoord Rotterdam

Gaston Taument ( born October 1, 1970 in The Hague ) is a former Dutch football player.

Club career

The midfielder started his professional career in the 1988 /89 Feyenoord Rotterdam. Taument played a game in his first season and was awarded in the season 1989/90 after a completed game at Feyenoord in the second league club Excelsior Rotterdam, where he became a regular player and 25 games played.

After a season in the Eerste Divisie Taument returned to Feyenoord and played its also a regular place. Overall, he played in 182 league appearances for the Rotterdam club, where he was able to achieve 41 goals, before moving to the Portuguese first division club Benfica for season 1997/98.

In his only season in the Portuguese Super Liga Taument played 16 games, but was able to achieve a goal and then moved to the Belgian Erstdivisionär RSC Anderlecht. Here he remained one season and also moved in summer 1999 to the Greek first division club OFI Crete, whence he in the summer of 2000 the Austrian Bundesliga SK Rapid Wien joined and there ended his professional career in the summer of 2002 after two seasons.

National

Gaston Taument was on 12 February 1992 in the away match against Portugal, his debut in the Dutch national team and was in both the 1994 World Cup and at the 1996 European Championships squad. Overall, he played 15 international matches and scored two goals.
