Gauriganj (Hindi: गौरीगंज Gaurīgañj [ ɡɔ ː ri ː ɡʌndʒ ] ) is a town in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is located approximately 110 kilometers northwest of Allahabad and 115 kilometers southeast of Lucknow in the region of Awadh ( Oudh ) in Central Uttar Pradesh. The nearest large town is 15 km east Amethi. Gauriganj is the administrative seat of the district of Amethi (formerly Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Nagar ). Gauriganj is connected via the railway from Lucknow to Varanasi via Raebareli on the railway network.
