Geoffrey Bibby

Thomas Geoffrey Bibby ( born October 14, 1917 in Heversham, England; † February 6, 2001 in Aarhus ) was an English archaeologist.

He studied archeology at Cambridge University and worked from 1947 to 1950 as an employee of the Iraq Petroleum Company in Bahrain, he found no place in his learned profession. In Bahrain, he met his future wife, whom he married in 1949. About his wife he met the Danish Professor Peter Vilhelm Glob know and got a job at the University of Aarhus in Denmark. Later, he became director of the Oriental department of the local Prehistoric Museum. From 1952, he dug in Bahrain and other Gulf countries and found the legendary Dilmun and other prehistoric cultures.
