George "Gabby" Hayes
George Francis " Gabby " Hayes ( born May 7, 1885 in Stannard, New York, † February 9, 1969 in Burbank, California ) was an American actor.
Life
Hayes starred in numerous B westerns of the 1930s and 1940s, mostly the sidekick of the protagonist, among other things, the " singing cowboys " Roy Rogers or the early films with John Wayne. His nickname " Gabby " is derived from the figure of Gabby Whittaker, he played in 27 Roy Rogers movies. Overall, Rogers and turned it over 40 films. In Germany he is known primarily for the Western television series of yesteryear, which aired from 1978 to 1986 on ZDF.
Overall, Hayes has appeared in nearly 200 films. His grave is at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills Cemetery in Los Angeles.
