Gerald Tinker

Gerald Tinker ( Tinker Gerald Alexander; born January 19, 1951 in Miami, Florida ) is a former American sprinter and Olympic gold medalist. After his career in athletics, he was American football player in the National Football League ( NFL).

At the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972, he won on September 10, the gold medal in the 4 x 100 - meter relay. The squadron provided in 38.19 seconds, a world record U.S. season of 1968. The U.S. relay won in the lineup Larry Black, Robert Taylor, Gerald Tinker and Eddie Hart in 38.19 s ( which they equaled the national record ), before the teams from the Soviet Union ( 38.50 s ) and Germany (38, 79 s ).

In 1974, Tinker played American football in the National Football League. Even in college, he was active as a football player and was a teammate of Jack Lambert, a later member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He ran as a Wide Receiver in 1974 and 1975 for the Atlanta Falcons and moved into his second season with the Green Bay Packers. After two seasons, he finished his career.
