Gerard Deulofeu Lázaro (born 13 March 1994 Riudarenes, Girona Province ) is a Spanish football player. The winger has since the age of nine active for FC Barcelona and currently plays on loan at Everton.

Career

Association

Gerard Deulofeu played since 2003 in the youth of the FC Barcelona. In his first year at the club he took in the age category Benjamin B as one of the key players the league title. Initially used as a playmaker, he 's been playing the A- youth mostly on the left wing, where he convinced his pace and his technical skills. With the B- youth of the association Deulofeu won 2010 the Catalan League and was by far the youngest player of his team. Then he signed a pre- professional contract with FC Barcelona.

In the 2010/11 season Deulofeu belonged to the squad of the A- youth of FC Barcelona. With this he finished the División de Honor Juvenil (group 3) as a table first and had contributed as top scorer with his 15 goals to do so. Thus his team for the Copa de Campeones, in which his team in the finals Real Madrid defeated 3-1 is qualified. In the same season he played his first game for the B team. In the 4-1 win over FC Córdoba he came on in the 76th minute for Edu Oriol. In April 2011, the 17- year-old received his first appointment to the senior squad for the match against Real Sociedad on the 34th game day.

For the 2011/12 season Deulofeu was promoted firmly in the B- team of FC Barcelona. At the end of the season for him were 34 stakes and nine goals to book. He was thus the highest-scoring player of his team. On October 29, 2011, he completed his debut in the Primera División; he came on as a substitute for David Villa in the 63rd minute of the match against RCD Mallorca used.

For the 2013/14 season Deulofeu joined for one year on loan in the Premier League for Everton FC.

National

In 2010 he took part with the Spanish U- 17 at the European Championships in Liechtenstein. In the final group game against Portugal, he advanced with his two goals to make it 2-0 to the man of the day. As a winger also used in the remaining games, he even met in the final against England. Winning the European Championship was denied him, however, as England turned the game still 2-1. In qualifying for the U-17 Championship 2011 in Serbia, he played six games and scored two goals. For the final competition, his team failed to qualify, since Spain only took second place behind England in the final group stage.

With the U-19 selection in 2011, he won the European Championship in Romania. Deulofeu came in all five games for the semi-finals, scoring the opening goal in the 5-0 victory over Ireland. A year later he repeated the triumph at the U-19 European Championships in Estonia, again played in all five matches and became the semi-final against France named player of the game. In this encounter he had first achieved two goals in the regular season and transforms the final, decisive penalty kick in the penalty shootout. Then he'd named the best player of the tournament.
