Gerlebogk is a district of the city rounders and lies to the east of the salt district in Saxony- Anhalt.

Geography

Gerlebogk lies between the cities Bernburg (Saale ), Köthen (Anhalt), Gröbzig and rounders in an intensively farmed black earth region. The hilly, largely treeless terrain falls to the southwest gradually to Fuhnetal and reaches the acacia mountain 104 meters above sea level. NN. The district of Anhalt -Bitterfeld is immediately adjacent to the east of the district Gerlebogk.

For the former municipality Gerlebogk belonged to the district Berwitz.

History

The name can be discovered from Old High Ger = spear, derive weapon. The area of the district of Bernburg was used for arable farming, already 6,500 years ago. Gerlebogk and the surrounding villages are housing estates from the 10th and 11th centuries.

1798 began lignite open pit, partly underground, degrade in Gerlebogk, first in small quantities because of the low demand. From the mid-19th century, the degradation is expanded, the pit Franz in Gerlebogk promoted to 1929 coal. In 1900 the community was by railway lines in all directions connected ( light railway lines Nauendorf - Gerlebogk, Bien Village Gerlebogk ).

The already long past coal mining has left many remaining holes in Gerlebogk and environment, which are now partly used as a lake ( Rohrteich ).

On 1 January 2010, until then independent municipality Gerlebogk was incorporated together with the communities Cörmigk, Edlau and Vienna village to the city rounders.

Culture and sights

In the local cemetery, the grave of Albert Hädecke reminiscent of a Communist who was killed at the beginning of the period of National Socialism in 1933 in Köthen, because he had hoisted a red flag.

Transport links

By Gerlebogk the road from Köthen (Anhalt) leads to rounders with the motorway junction rounders (A 14 of Halle ( Saale) Magdeburg ). Other roads connect Gerlebogk with Bernburg (Saale ) and Gröbzig. The nearest train stations are located in Bien village and rounders.
