Germán Herrera

Germán Gustavo Herrera or short Germán Herrera ( born July 19, 1983 in Santa Fe) is a football player from Argentina. Currently plays the striker in the Brazilian Série A in Botafogo FR.

Career

Association

Herrera learned the ABC football in the youth department of CA Rosario Central before joining the senior squad in 2002. There he came regularly to missions. After two seasons he moved to offensive players to league rival San Lorenzo de Almagro. Quick here he won a regular place. After another two years, Herrera and San Lorenzo decided at a lending arrangement with the brasilienischen club Gremio. Good performances at that time attracted the attention of European teams at the attacker. So it was that Herrera during the winter break 2006/ 07 moved to Spanish club Real Sociedad. There he was on 21 January 2007, his league debut in the Primera División against Valencia. At that time he came off the bench in 71 minutes of Gari Uranga. His last game for Real Sociedad, he completed against FC Valencia, on 17 June 2006. Breakthrough he failed, however, and it soon drew him back to the old club to San Lorenzo, in the home country of Argentina. Here it kept Herrera but not for long and after a brief interlude, he decided to transfer to a league rival Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata. But this was the most athletic development rather modest, as well as those of the clubs. Neither under Francisco Maturana, still under Julio César Falcioni knew the attacker to convince and so the chapter was completed quickly and the offensive player moved on loan to Brazil in 2008 to Corinthians. Thus at second division, he found his goalscoring instinct again and was with Stumkollegen Dentinho with 14 -goal leading attacker of his team. At the end of the season the team was relegated from the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B to Série A in the. For the new season Herrera was again obliged by Grêmio Porto Alegre. A year later he was awarded to Botafogo FR.

National

Herrera was U-20 national team of Argentina. In twelve games the attacker get four hits. With these he took in 2003 at the Junior World Cup in part. There he came to seven inserts and a hit during the tournament course. In the semifinals, the team retired to eventual winners Brazil from 0-1. In the match for third place, the team was a loser from the square.
