Gero Trauth
Gero Trauth ( born June 25, 1942 in neurodegeneration, county Glatz, Lower Silesia) is a German painter, printmaker, illustrator and designer porcelain.

Life and work
Gero Trauth was born as the only child of specialist in general medicine Fritz Trauth and his wife Irene, born Jung ( sister of Fritz Jung). After the expulsion of 1946, the family came to West Germany and was established in Siegen. Trauth is married and has two grown daughters.
Training
Trauths training began in 1959 with an internship in the book Art Eggebrecht Press Mainz under Hans Schmidt. From 1960 to 1965 studied Trauth art, graphics and design at the National Art School in Mainz (now Fachhochschule Mainz ) and others in Gedo yolk soft (1983-1986 President of the Deutscher Werkbund ) and Alfred Tilp, sculpture at Heinz Müller- Olm, font and Book History at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Aloys Ruppel and history of book illustration at Helmut Presser, Director of the Gutenberg Museum. The study was supplemented by seminars with Heinz Mack (ZERO ), Herbert W. Kapitzki and Anton Stankowski. 1965 graduated with honors from the study Trauth ( honored by a special exhibition at the National Art School for a delegation of the Ministry ).
Mentors and friends
1962 Made famous designer Elsa Fischer- Treyden with Bjørn Wiinblad Trauth. While studying frequent visits to Copenhagen and Wiinblad made Trauths was artistic mentor and later friend. Another friendship with frequent, extensive, reciprocal visits and collaborative working in the same rotogravure printing workshop Trauth association with the late 2005 Swedish painter and graphic artist Gunnar Norrman and his wife Ulla.
Artistic work
Painting and Design
Since 1966, Trauth worked as a freelance artist and designer with a studio in Siegen. In 1972 the design and construction of his artistically developed in house. From 1967 to 1983 series are drawings, graphics and sculptures for international art houses such as Artes - Art of our world 1982-1989, ars mundi - the world of art 1982/1983 (including sales of his sculpture you, in bronze and marble casting), as well as posters, oil paintings and picture books and gardens Missing My Heart is a star - pictures of dreams and fairy tales. His work as a designer included faience (State majolica manufactory, Karlsruhe), fabric collections ( Stuttgart Gardinenfabrik, Taunus textile printing ), lights ( Federal Garden Show in Dortmund, ambience fairs Frankfurt am Main), cutlery ( GUM ), planters ( Eternit AG), stainless steel and ceramic decorations on public buildings and designs for the furniture industry. 2000 was the opening of an exhibition building ( Gero Trauth House) in Siegen.
Porcelain Illustration
In 1983 the highly productive collaboration with Villeroy & Boch / Heinrich porcelain in Selb, which lasted until 1997. Trauth coined in this period, the product of Heinrich porcelain prevail. The exclusive service collections were supervised by Trauth and Paloma Picasso, whose object series Paloma Picasso - Suite de Vases decorated Trauth. He also designed Bone China tableware ( Vie Sauvage, Arabian Fantasy and Happy Seasons ). A variety of gift items bears his signature, including the exclusive porcelain object series Magnum (1990). Trauth also illustrated porcelain series for the WWF ( symbiosis Man - Nature, 1990) and the German Cancer Aid ( reveries, 1995). Furthermore, Russian motif series ( magic tales from the Old Russia, tales of the Volga, the dreams of Catherine ), and series to other topics ( magic world of the circus ring, lovers of world literature, the annual Christmas plates ) that during these 14 years in Europe ( Frankfurt International Fairs originated ) and the USA ( Southbend Fair, Chicago), V & B, Madison Avenue, New York were shown.
Cappella Gero Trauth
2003 established the new exhibition pavilion Cappella Gero Trauth in Siegen. This building was designed by Trauth, provides interior and exterior is a work of art and is a symbiosis of works of world literature and Trauths art that is intended as a refuge for his collection; ZDF and 3sat reported on it ( "... a marble hall of unusual architecture and beauty ").
