Gerrit Adriaenszoon Berckheyde

Gerrit Adriaenszoon Berckheyde (* 1638 in Haarlem, † June 10, 1698 ) was a Dutch painter.

Berckheyde was a pupil of Frans Hals and his brother Job Adriaenszoon Berckheyde, with whom he lived in the Haarlemmermeer Jansstraat. With it, he was for a time at the electoral court in Heidelberg and then worked in Haarlem. He mostly painted views of Haarlem, Amsterdam, Cologne, Bonn and Heidelberg, he staffierte with small figures. Main images have the museums in Amsterdam and Antwerp, the galleries in Kassel ( flock of sheep ), Dresden, Dam Square and Schwerin.
