Ghardaïa Province

The province of Ghardaia (Arabic ولاية غرداية, DMG Wilāyat Ġardāya, also Ghardaya or Ghardaia ) is a province ( wilaya ) in the middle of Algeria.

The province includes the oasis region of Mzab in the Sahara and has an area of ​​78,107 km ².

The population is composed to a large extent from Mozabiten who own a Berber language, Mzab - Wargla speak. Its population is around 349,000 ( 2006 estimate ), the population density is thus about 4.5 inhabitants per square kilometer.

The provincial capital is Ghardaia.
