Giampaolo Crepaldi

Giampaolo Crepaldi ( born September 29, 1947 in Pettorazza Grimani, province of Rovigo, Italy) is a bishop of Trieste.

Life

Giampaolo Crepaldi received on 17 July 1971, the sacrament of Holy Orders. He then worked as a curate in Villadose, Villanova del Ghebbo and Castel Massa. Crepaldi acquired in 1975 at the University of Bologna licentiate in philosophy in 1977 at the University of Padua's degree in philosophy. In 1981 he received his doctorate at the Pontifical Urban University in Catholic theology.

Giampaolo Crepaldi 1977 Delegate for the Pastoral Social in the Diocese of Adria- Rovigo, and diocesan director of the center for education and training. From 1985 to 1986 he served as pastor at Cambio. 1986 Crepaldi was director of the Office for Social problems and work with the Italian Episcopal Conference. In 1994 he was appointed undersecretary of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace. Pope John Paul II awarded him on 9 August 1995 the title of Honorary Prelate of His Holiness.

On March 3, 2001, he was named John Paul II, Titular Archbishop of Bisarcio and secretary of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace. He received his episcopal consecration John Paul II on 19 March of the same year in St. Peter's Basilica; Co-consecrators were Cardinal Angelo Sodano and Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re. On 4 July 2009, he was named Pope Benedict XVI. Bishop of Trieste and gave him the personal title of archbishop. The inauguration took place on 4 October of the same year.

He serves on the scientific advisory board of the Papal Foundation Centesimus Annus Pro Pontifice ( CAPP ).
