Giddings Deutsches Volksblatt

The Giddings Deutsches people sheet was a trilingual German -American newspaper, which was published in Giddings, in the U.S. state of Texas. The greater part was written in German, but many stories have been written in English and some short additions in Wendish ( Sorbian ). In the first years of the newspaper was also written in Sorbian. The German people sheet was developed by the German community in Texas and particularly to reach the scattered in Texas, contact.

J. A. Proske and W. C. Vogel founded the newspaper 1899. A trial edition was published in September 12th of this year, during the first complete edition was published on 1 October of the year. The subsequent owner put the newspaper in 1949.
