Giovanni Tacci Porcelli

Giovanni Cardinal Tacci Porcelli ( born November 12, 1863 in Mogliano, Macerata Province, Italy, † June 30, 1928 in Rome) was Bishop of Città della Pieve.

Life

Giovanni Tacci Porcelli received his philosophical and theological education in Tolentino and Rome. He received his Ph.D. in the subjects of Canon Law and Catholic theology. On September 19, 1886, he received the sacrament of Holy Orders and was then used as a church pastor. He also worked as a teacher and principal in the formation of priests. He belonged to the Pontifical Commission for the schools and supervised several abbeys.

1895 he was appointed by Pope Leo XIII. Bishop of Città della Pieve. In 1904, Giovanni Porcelli Tacci apostolic delegate in Constantinople Opel for the Uniate Catholics of the Eastern rite and patriarchal vicar for the Catholics of the Latin rite. 1907 he was appointed by Pope Pius X. Pope Benedict XV. took him in 1921 as a cardinal priest with the titular church of Santa Maria in Trastevere in the College of Cardinals to. 1922 -1926 he was secretary of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches. Giovanni Tacci Porcelli died on 30 June 1928 in Rome and was buried in the local cemetery Campo Verano.
