GippsAero

GippsAero (formerly Gippsland Aeronautics ) is an Australian aircraft manufacturer. The company builds single-engined Nutzflugzeuge and is part of the Indian conglomerate Mahindra Group.

History

Gippsland Aeronautics was founded by Peter Furlong and George Morgan, began operation at the Latrobe Regional Airport in Morwell in the 1970s as a company for aircraft maintenance and modification or conversion to. The company worked for large organizations such as the National Safety Council of Australia and Esso Australia as well as local commercial airline service provider. During the late 1960s and early 1970s, Peter Furlong and John Brown were pilots, aircraft designers, fabricators and maintenance personnel for the Latrobe Valley Aircraft Club and the Ultralight Club of Australia.
