The seeds of marigold ( Glebionis segetum, Syn: Chrysanthemum segetum ) is a plant from the sunflower family ( Asteraceae).
Features
The seeds marigold is an annual herbaceous plant that reaches the plant height of 30 to 60 centimeters. The leaves are cut in pieces, cut the front widened and coarsely toothed to three columns. The upper are amplexicaul. The flower heads have a diameter of 4 centimeters. The ray florets / ray flowers are yellow to dark yellow.
The flowering period extends from June to October.
Occurrence
The seeds marigold comes in southern, western and central Europe in the fields.
Use
The seed is scattered Wucherblume used as an ornamental plant for summer flowerbeds as well as a cut flower. The species is in cultivation since at least 1588.
