Glen Keane

Glen Keane ( born April 13, 1954 in Abington, Pennsylvania, USA) is an American animator, who has worked primarily for the Walt Disney Studios.

He is the son of cartoonist Bil Keane and is considered one of the best cartoon animators in the world. His impressive work so include popular characters like Ariel, Aladdin, Tarzan, the Beast and Pocahontas. As one of the few Disney animators Keane is mostly responsible for the character design of his characters and the storyboard of his sequences.

When the Disney studios einstellten in 2004 the production of hand-drawn animated films in the United States currently complete, Keane began to work as a director on the computer-animated fairy tale Rapunzel. However, as was announced in October 2008, Keane had to withdraw for health and for internal reasons of his director's post.

On March 23, 2012 Glen Keane sent an open letter of resignation to his staff at the Walt Disney Feature Animation Studios.
