God is Love Pentecostal Church

The Igreja Pentecostal Deus é Amor (IPDA ), sometimes only as Deus é Amor (God is Love ), is a Brazilian neocharismatische Pentecostal church and the first neupfingstlerische group developed distinct corporate structures.

Foundation

The church "Deus é Amor" was founded in 1962 by David Martins de Miranda. It now has nearly 900,000 members and operates approximately 17,600 churches in Brazil and 136 other countries. In Brazil, it is the second largest Pentecostal church Igreja Universal do Reino addition to the de Deus. In São Paulo, the Church of Miranda maintains a 60,000 visitors comprehensive community hall. Theology

The Church emphasizes the work of the Holy Spirit and divine miracle. Compared to conventional evangelical churches it is considered radical, sometimes even extremist. Banners (see photo top right), on which countless wheelchairs and crutches are shown, seems as if the church helped hundreds of patients to a new life awaken.

Practice of faith and morals

The internal rules are very strict. It is forbidden to watch TV, play football or to wear makeup and jewelry. Women their hair must not intersect. Men may wear a beard.

Accusations of money laundering

The purchase of another old and very large cinema in Montevideo, the Teatro Cine Plaza, for 4 million dollars and high investments elsewhere have a lively discussion in Uruguay on the possible laundering of the two major Pentecostal churches " Dios es Amor " and " Igreja Universal do Reino de Deus " is triggered.
