Station Gorinchem is a train station in the Dutch town of Gorinchem near the city center. The station is located on the Betuwelijn between Elst and Dordrecht. The station was put into operation on 1 December 1883.

The line

The station was opened simultaneously with the opening of Betuwelijn. One and a half years, the station was the terminus of the line until 1885, the eastern part of the track was opened.

Station building

The original station building was of the standard type Sneek, built at several locations in The Netherlands:

  • Station Gorinchem, built in 1881, demolished in 1971.
  • Tiel Station, built in 1881, still preserved.
  • Sneek Railway Station, built in 1882, still preserved.
  • Appingedam station, built in 1883, demolished in 1981.
  • Delfzijl railway station, built in 1883, still preserved, but otherwise bricked.
