Gorod (band)

Gorod is a technical death metal band from Bordeaux, France.

History

The band was founded in 1997 under the name of Guillaume Gorgasm Martinot (vocals), Mathieu Pascal ( electric guitar ), Arnaud Pontaco ( electric guitar ), Sandrine (drums) and Benoit Claus ( electric bass). They released their debut album Neuro Trip Sicks in 2004 at Deadsun Records. 2005, they changed their name to Gorod, to avoid confusion with an American band also called Gorgasm. They released their debut album in 2005 new to Willowtip Records.

Since the name change Gorod released two more studio albums, including Process of a New Decline, which was released in Europe on 2 June 2009 at Willowtip Records. Gorod reported a higher level of awareness since their appearance at Maryland Death Fest 2007 in Baltimore, USA.

In June 2011, the EP Transcendence over Bud Records was released as a download. In addition, you could also get the EP at the concerts Gorod. The EP was also a cover of the song Textures, originally performed by Cynic, included. As a guest vocalist Ross Dolan was to hear from Immolation on the EP.

Style

Gorod play a technically sophisticated version of Death Metal. Above all, the game of guitars is kept very complex. The works have partially on bonds from the jazz and compared with the works of other bands such as Necrophagist, Cynic and Death.
