Goshen County, Wyoming
Goshen County is a county located in the state of Wyoming in the United States. According to the U.S. Census lived on 1 July 2005 in County 12,243 inhabitants. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Torrington.
Geography
The county covers an area of 5781 square kilometers, of which 18 square kilometers of water. It is bordered clockwise to the County: Niobrara County, Scotts Bluff County ( Nebraska), Sioux County ( Nebraska), Banner County ( Nebraska), Laramie County and Platte County.
History
Goshen County was founded in 1911.
Demographic data
According to the census of 2000, there were 12,538 people in Goshen County. There were 5061 households, and 3426 families. The population density was 2 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 93.83 % White, 0.20 % African American, 0.86 % Native American, 0.20 % Asian, 0.12% Pacific Islander residents from the and 3.65 % from other races groups; 1.14% were descended from two or more races. 8.83 % percent of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 5,061 households out of which 28.60% have children under the age of 18 living with them. 56.70 % were married couples living together, 7.70 % percent were single mothers, 32.30 % were non-families. 27.60% of all households and 13.10% had someone living alone at the age of 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.38 and the average family size was 2.90 persons.
