The Gowan Glacier is a glacier about 28 km long in the Heritage Range, the southern part of the Antarctic Ellsworthgebirges. The head of the glacier is located near the Cunningham Peak. From there it flows in a northerly direction, where he finally east of the Welcome Nunatak empties into the Minnesota Glacier.

The glacier was mapped by the United States Geological Survey as part of the compilation of Ellsworthgebirges in the years 1961-1966 through site surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy. The U.S. Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the glacier Lieutenant Jimmy L. Gowan (United States Navy ) in 1966 as a senior officer and a doctor on the American research station worked Plateau Station.
