Welcome Nunatak is a relatively small but very distinctive conical Nunatak, which is almost isolated. It is located south of the Minnesota Glacier and north of the Reuther nunataks in the Founders peaks in the West Antarctic Heritage Range. The east of the nunataks Gowan flowing glacier meets the north-east of the Welcome Nunatak on the Minnesota Glacier.

Was named the Nunatak on the geological expedition of the University of Minnesota who explored the area in the summer of 1963/64. For the members of the expedition, took the motor toboggans locomotion, the Nunatak was a welcome (English welcome) sight because it meant that they were now almost reached in their base camp at Camp Hills.
