The Grabow Confectionery GmbH is a traditional German food manufacturers.

History

The company was founded in 1835 by Johann Grabow Bollhagen as bakery, pretzels, waffles and gingerbread manufactured. 1902 took over Gustav Ritter, who extended the sales territory and began to export.

1951, the company was nationalized and renamed VEB Grabow Dauerbackwaren. Were mainly produced marshmallows and cookies. 1991 Schiesser Group took over the operation, the product range was reduced to marshmallows and replaced parts of the staff by robots, but this did not work. 1996 bankruptcy has been sought and Otto Lithardt acquired the company. The company is following the acquisition by Continental Bakeries one of the leading German manufacturers of biscuits, marshmallows, foam waffles and crisp bread. Is produced at the sites Grabow, Arnstadt, Prichsenstadt, Kühren - Burkartshain and Herten. The annual turnover amounts to € 145 million with 700 employees.
