Greatest Hits: My Prerogative is the first compilation album by American pop singer Britney Spears. It was released on 9 November 2004 by Zomba Records and Jive Records and sold more than six million times. It has been awarded eleven gold records and 12 platinum records.

Formation
On 13 August 2004 Spears released by Jive Records the release date of their first compilation known. The title of Greatest Hits: My Prerogative it is based on the first single, the Bobby Brown My Prerogative cover to. It was produced by Swedish production team Bloodshy Cover & Avant.
A DVD of the same name was released on the same day. It includes the music videos. This DVD has sold more than 300,000 times.
The track list of Greatest Hits: My Prerogative was officially announced on 13 September 2004.

Greatest Hits: My Prerogative was released in several versions. The standard version includes 19 tracks. A 20- song version has also been released. In addition, a limited edition remix bonus disc was released with nine remixes. In the USA, track number 15 ( Do not Let Me Be the Last to Know ) is not included on the CD.

My Prerogative was released as the first single compilation. The song is a cover of Bobby Brown. The premiere of the track took place on various radio stations on September 14, 2004. The song reached inter alia the charts in Finland, Ireland, Italy and Norway as well as in 14 other countries.
Do Somethin '
The single to Do Somethin ' was released on 14 February 2005. Do Somethin ' reached the top 10 in Australia, Denmark, Sweden and the United States. By Downloads managed the piece on place 100 of the Hot 100 in the United States.
Success
In the U.S., selling Greatest Hits: My Prerogative more than 1,450,000 million copies and was awarded by the RIAA platinum. In Germany Spears received the IFPI Gold for the compilation.
