Distribution and habitat

The bird is endemic to Peru. He has been, inter alia, observed in the northern part of the province Huancabamba. Even in the extreme northeast of the province of Piura the bird has been spotted. On the Pacific slopes of the Andes in the north- east of the province of Santa Cruz in the region Cajamarca more stocks have been discovered. Also in the east of the province Celendín comes before the bird. Since the gray Flights Lammer was seen at the Marañón on the borders of the regions of the Amazon and La Libertad, there is a legitimate possibility that the stock is still higher than expected. In all these areas it is found at altitudes 1800-2600 meters. The typical habitat consists of mountain scrub. Thus one finds at the bird herbaceous up to 1.40 meters large bushes, small acacia (Acacia ), various cacti and bromeliads family ( Bromeliaceae ).

Behavior

The behavior of the bird is relatively inconspicuous, so that relatively little is known about the behavior. It feeds on seeds, parts of plants and insects. Its breeding season is from May to September.
