Groß Siemz

Great Siemz is a municipality in the western part of the North West in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ). The community is managed by the Office Schönberger country located in the town of Schönberg.

Geography

The municipality Great Siemz lies about 15 km east of Lübeck on the river Maurine and immediately south of the small town of Schönberg. The hilly area east and west of Maurinetals reaches heights up to 66 m above sea level. NN.

Too Big Siemz the districts Klein Siemz, Lindow and Torisdorf include (formerly Torriesdorf ).

History

As part of the route survey for the construction of the A 20, the Bronze Age burial ground of large Siemz was excavated.

The village first mentioned in 1413 as Zimitz is of Slavic origin and was created as Angersdorf. The district Torisdorf ( first mentioned 1526) was born to an estate that does not exist anymore. Dating in the core from the mid-17th century manor house was demolished after 1960.
