About 500 meters north of the station, the railway line from Munich to wooden churches runs in an arc from the Munich - Solln station to Großhesseloher bridge.

History

On June 10, 1891, the Isartalbahn of Thal churches took out of service on first to Schaeftlarn, still further in July to Wolfratshausen. From the beginning there were Großhesselohe a railway station that was named Isartalbahnhof to distinguish it from the existing state railway Großhesselohe.

Just north of Großhesseloher Isartalbahnhofs had to cross the leader of Solln to Großhesseloher bridge Maximiliansbahn over a 39 -meter-long steel girder bridge, west of the State railway station was the Isartalbahn. This state railway bridge called railway bridge still exists today and is just like the Isartalbahnhof under monument protection.

1938 an additional connection curve for Solln station was opened, with the Isartalbahnhof Großhesselohe was also linked to the Maximiliansbahn. However, this compound was initially used only to freight, until 1950 drove there and passenger trains. 1964, the section of the Isartalbahn between Großhesselohe and Sendling was shut down.

In 1981 the station was converted to a S-Bahn station, the old station building was no longer needed for that. The curve for Sollner station was expanded and double track level freely connected to the railway line from Munich to wooden churches.

S-Bahn station

Today's S-Bahn station has two platform tracks and a central platform of 145 meters in length with a height of 76 cm, which is accessible from both sides. The S-Bahn station is served by the S -Bahn line S7 Wolfratshausen Cross Road, which runs here in 20 -minute intervals.

Station building

The former station building consists of two different sizes and different levels of rectangular corner pavilions and connecting them midsection. The corner pavilions are two-storey brick buildings of red and yellow bricks and carry a tent roof. The ground floor level connecting building was originally the platform area and is also bricked the outside ( east) of bricks. The originally open west side, to lay the platform, is now completed with a steel and glass structure.

Since the early 1970s, the German Federal Railroad use the reception building no longer as such. 1987 bought a Munich notary and architect of the building, after which the station building has been converted into a brewery restaurant. In the central part of the reception building the brewing equipment Weißbierbrauerei Isarbräu, which was opened in 1988 with a restaurant originated. The old platform serves as the terrace of the restaurant, in front of the station building, a beer garden is set up.

The unbalanced system of the station building with different high corner pavilions was characteristic of the early stations in the Isar valley. Today she is otherwise uncovered only at the level Hausen- Schaeftlarn station. The Pullach station, however, shows still good the originally open platform hall.
