Grumpier - friends, enemies, fish & Women ( Grumpier Old Men ) is an American comedy film from 1995 directed by Howard Deutch, the screenplay was written by Mark Steven Johnson.. The film is a sequel to the comedy Grumpy Old Men from the year 1993.

Action

The action takes place six months after the end of the previous film. Melanie Gustafson wants to marry Jacob Goldman and both are preparing for it. Max Goldman and John Gustafson argue less than before. The store where the men have already spent a lot of time is taken over by Maria Ragetti and her mother, who want to open an Italian restaurant.

Max and John are trying to thwart the plans of the Ragettis. The restaurant will open anyway, but initially only a few guests. Maria Ragetti talks to Max, to end the feud. They draw closer. After some turmoil and eventually get married.

Reviews

James Berardinelli wrote on ReelViews, the sequel was not as funny, spontaneous and fun as the first film. The film was " uninspired "; even particularly good in the first movie Burgess Meredith play this time worse.

The lexicon of international film wrote that the film was a "matter rehash " of its predecessor. The " spirit and pointless script" write " a lot of blank space before ". The "good performers " would " strive in vain to fulfill the impossible task of producing amusing entertainment ".

Jack Lemmon was nominated in 1996 for an American Comedy Award. Alan Silvestri won the 1996 BMI film music award.
