Gu Jun

Gu Jun ( Chinese顾 俊, Pinyin Gu Jun, * January 3, 1975 in Wuxi, Jiangsu) is a former Chinese badminton player.

Career

Gu June won four gold medals in doubles at Asian Championships: 1994 in Shanghai, in Beijing in 1995, 1998 and 1999 in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur. In 1997 she won plus the Sudirman Cup with the Chinese national team. In the badminton world championships in the same year in Glasgow Gu also won the gold medal in doubles. 1999 in Copenhagen they could defend the world title.

In her career Gu June participated twice in the Olympic Games. At the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, she won along with Ge Fei the gold medal in doubles. In the final they beat the South Koreans Gil Young- ah and Jang Hye- ock with 15:5 and 15:5. In Sydney, at the Summer Olympic Games in 2000, Gu June could defend together with Ge Fei, the Olympic Gold.
