Gumniska, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship

Gumniska ( German Silzkeim ) is a village in Poland, in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in the community Barciany. It belongs to the mayor's office Rodele.

Geography

The village is situated about three kilometers south of Barciany and about 13 kilometers north of Kętrzyn. The border with the Kaliningrad Oblast runs 14 kilometers north of Gumniska.

History

Today's Gumniska was created in 1394 as a manor with an area of ​​25 Wloka by law and Kulm 1528 mentioned as Sylszkaymm. The name derives from Old Prussian " sylo " and " caymis, seed ," meaning Heidedorf. Today's Polish name derives from " gumnisko " ( space between the antenna and other buildings of the court ). In 1817 there were in the settlement of seven residential buildings with 64 residents. 1910 lived 82 people on the estate. Through administrative reform, the village was 1975 Olsztyn voivodeship. Economy and infrastructure
